Overview

Koonote is a voice note app. You can record audio on your device, and we provide transcription and AI-generated summaries and related features.

The app does not require registration with an email address or phone number. We do not sell your personal information and do not serve third-party advertising in the app.

The app is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us.

Information We Collect

Information you provide or that is generated through use

• Voice recordings, for note generation
• Note and edit content, such as titles and summaries
• Content related to smart features, such as translation or in-note chat
• Support messages you send us voluntarily

Information collected automatically

• Device identifier information, to operate the service and measure usage allowances
• Device language or region settings, to match interface and content language
• Push notification tokens, if you grant notification permission
• Subscription and membership status
• Basic diagnostic information, only when you contact support (such as app version)

Information we do not actively collect

Contacts, precise location, browsing history, and other data unrelated to core app features.

Device Permissions

• Microphone — Record voice notes
• Notifications — Notify you when processing completes or fails
• Photo Library — Add images to notes locally only

You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

How We Use Information

We use information only as needed to provide and improve the service, including voice processing, content generation and sync, membership features, service notifications, security, and support responses.

Third-Party AI Processing

To provide transcription, summaries, translation, and in-note chat, some of your content is processed by third-party AI services we engage, including voice-related data for speech-to-text and text-related data for summaries, translation, and replies.

Please note:

1. This data leaves your device and may be processed outside your country or region.
2. We use it only to provide app features, do not sell it to third parties, and do not use it for unrelated advertising.
3. We require service providers to process data only as needed and to apply reasonable safeguards.
4. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to this processing.

Information Storage

• On your device: Recordings, notes, and images are primarily stored on your iPhone.
• In the cloud: Some data is kept only briefly to complete processing and device sync. We do not keep your recordings or note content in the cloud long term. Data is removed after processing or sync completes; data that is not synced in time is also cleared after a reasonable period.

Uninstalling the app removes local data on your device. To request handling of cloud information still associated with you, contact [email protected].

Other Third-Party Services

We may also use third parties for cloud infrastructure, payment verification, and push delivery. Subscription payments are processed by Apple; we do not collect your payment card information.

Your Choices and Rights

You can usually:

• Delete notes and related content in the app
• Manage app permissions in iOS Settings
• Manage subscriptions in your Apple account settings
• Contact us at [email protected] to request access to or deletion of information associated with you

We will respond to reasonable requests within the time required by applicable law.

Cross-Border Processing

The app is offered to users internationally. Your information may be processed outside your country or region. We take reasonable measures to protect it.

Policy Updates

We may update this policy from time to time and publish the latest version at https://koonote.app/privacy. If rules related to third-party AI processing change materially, we will notify you in a reasonable manner.
